Our Mission ...
We are asking all of the retailers & residents in the Deepings to join us in trying to make the Deepings a plastic bag free area by using re-usable alternatives.

This is a really hot topic at the moment, with plans outlined in the 2008 Budget as well as national and local campaigns taking off so we want to work closely with the retailers and residents to make the Deepings a Plastic Bag Free (PBF) community.
We realise this is a massive task and it's not something we can do alone, which is why we have created this website and will be holding meetings and open forums to understand the logistics and effort required in becomming completely PBF.
We'd love to achieve our 4 main goals ...
- Communication & Education ~ We want to hear your views, whether you're for our campaign or against it. We also want to keep you informed of what we're up to. The majority of this will be done through this website but we will be holding meetings with retailers and we also plan to have a stand at the Deeping Show to keep everyone informed of our progress.
- Give every household in the Deepings a free re-usable shopping bag and make more available to purchase locally for those who require more than one.
- Become a Plastic Bag Free community by working closely with all of the retailers (large & small) within the Deepings.
- Tackle other forms of packaging such as fast food cartons and fresh food wrappers.
Please browse around this site and contact us if you would like to get involved in the campaign. We'd also appreciate your views on our discussion boards and in our surveys and polls.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. Together, we can all MakeDeepingGreen.
